As of April 2022 we have updated our courses and times. Our wheel course is now 4 weeks and only on a Tuesday evening. Our beginners course is now 8 weeks and only on a Monday evening. There are now 2 experience sessions on a Saturday 10am and 1pm.We will also be running special one of events throughout the year, like Raku and glazing sessions. We have made these changes so you will have a better and more relaxing experience with us.

Hello pottery fans, just to let you know our course dates have now been updated. Places still available on the beginners and wheel courses. Experience sessions also have availability.

Also our testing of the xmas make course is now complete and dates will be advertised shortly for this mini make course.

Well after quite a few experience sessions at Spire Pottery it was time at last to glaze fire the work. With a little apprehension we filled up the kiln with our client work and started the kiln. After the usual wait till everything cooled down it was time to open the kiln. For our first official firing it when pretty well. All the work survived and most of the glazing was fine. Think we need to tweak our clear glaze and blue a little. Our test tile gave us some great results and helped decide on a range of glazes we will be continuing with. All in all a good firing.

Now to make more stuff.

For the summer we have available new 1 month pottery short courses. These are 4 sessions designed for those used to handling clay to make that special gift. These sessions will be loosely guided along this summers theme of the sea side. Get in touch for more details.
