Alan is a self-taught potter with a passion for the pottery wheel and all you can do with it. Pottery is my passion, love to do it try it and learn about it, and in pottery you probably never stop learning as there are so many cool things you can do with clay and glazing

I became interested in pottery and the potters wheel some 6 years ago now and since then I have been learning and practicing every chance I have. I’m mainly self taught from watching the likes of Simon Leach, Jon The Potter and Earth Nation Ceramics from YouTube, and also after taking some local college courses, which is were me and Nat meet. We are both very different people but both with a passion for pottery and ceramics. After studying with Nat and later helping out in classes we both decided a studio was the way to go. It gave us a better place to do pottery but also the chance to pass on what we have learnt over the years to others who would like to experience or continue with pottery, clay and especially the potters wheel.

I love all aspects of pottery from simple hand building to glazing, but the potters wheel is my thing. I love to throw clay on them and discover the many different techniques for throwing, trimming and surface decoration. I also love to teach and pass on what I have learnt so far on my ceramics journey.
